Counselling to meet your needs, your way
I will support you to understand your past, embrace the present and find your direction to carve out your future.
-
As a trauma-informed counsellor, I combine a range of approaches and techniques to best meet your needs at any given point in time during our therapy together. I will meet you with empathy and without judgement.
I am mindful that everyone has relationships and life circumstances in which they are operating, so work with techniques that suit you.
If desired, grounding techniques start sessions, which can focus on the body or breath, adapting to any disability you may have.
In therapy we may look at how your thoughts affect behavior; learning to become more aware of internal patterns. Together, we can then devise personalised techniques for you to feel in control and change your feelings for the better.
I am a compassionate and friendly professional who brings a sense of play and creativity to sessions but will tailor this to suit you on any given day.
-
I am drawn to working creatively so often invite the opportunity to use visualisations, metaphor, drawing, collage, gentle movement and compassionate mindfulness.
Everything is an invitation which will be explained before it is offered. I adapt my approach to suit you depending on what you feel comfortable with, which can vary between sessions and even within sessions.
I have experience working creatively through clients utilising something they are comfortable with and knowledgable about, including Pokémon, films and video games, to better understand themselves and how they feel.
Creative approaches are possible for both in person and online counselling sessions.
-
Everyone is unique and so is their therapy, so if you have ideas about how you would like to work, this is something we can discuss. I adapt my approach to suit you; it is your therapy space.
-
I am passionate about difference and diversity and strive to be actively inclusive of everyone. I am happy to discuss any accessibility requirements you may have and will do my best to accommodate them.
I have experience working with neurodiverse and physically disabled individuals. Fidget toys, lack of eye contact or an arrangement to suit you are all welcome.
The Beehive Centre Accessibility for in person sessions.
All questions are valid and I realise there are lots of factors that go into feeling safe, especially when something is new and different.

Why Counselling?
“Every person and their story is unique; there is no ‘one size fits all’ either in life or counselling. Being heard and seen can be a powerful experience, no matter who you are or what your story is.”
Counselling changed my life
Counselling has been transformational for my self-esteem, identity and life. As a disabled, neurodivergent queer person finding safe-enough spaces to explore my ongoing experience has been crucial, so that is what I aim to create for others.
Going beyond words and utilising creative techniques I would never otherwise have explored has unleashed an inner playfulness I had long suppressed. Through this journey of self-awareness and acceptance I have developed a greater sense of self, my values and what matters to me. It is a continuous journey of learning and unlearning.
I have great stillness and joy in connecting mindfully to nature, something I happily share with clients if they wish. I both participate in and give back to queer sports groups, as well as practising yoga and meditation regularly.
My background is in a large international corporate workplace, so I have an understanding of the challenges this can present.
It could change yours too
I have supported a variety of individuals to feel more confident, discover who they are and decide what direction they would like to take with their life. See what past clients thought.
